📝 Overview

The DaySmart Kiosk app is a companion tool designed for iPad. It is typically placed at the front counter to allow clients to:

  • Check in for existing appointments

  • Add themselves to the waitlist

  • Book a new appointment

The Kiosk streamlines client self-service, reduces front desk workload, and ensures smooth check-ins.


🛠️ Setup

These instructions explain how to set up the Kiosk app, including logging in, customizing the look and feel, adding employee profiles with photos, and configuring key app settings such as check-in mode, email requirements, service categories, and display options.

🔑 Logging In

1. Download the DaySmart Kiosk app from the App Store.

2. Open the app and sign in using your DaySmart account credentials.

3. Once logged in, click the gear icon in the top-right corner to access setup and settings.


🎨 Look & Feel Settings

  1. Click the Settings gear in the upper right corner.

  2. Click Look and Feel.

  3. Choose Light or Dark Mode.

  4. Select a Background Image and Theme Color.

  5. Once changes are made, click Back to save and return to the main screen.


👩‍💼 Employee Settings

  1. Click the Settings gear in the upper right corner.

  2. Click Employee Settings.

  3. Enable the option to let clients select their stylist/employee.

  4. To add or edit employee photos:

    1. Click Employee Photos.

    2. Tap the employee’s name.

    3. Upload a photo, take a photo, or select from existing options.

  5. Tap the checkmark in the top corner to save.

  1. Click the Settings gear in the upper right corner.

  2. Click Appt Settings.

  3. Check-In Mode: Send appointments directly to the Appointment Book or to the Waitlist. If sent to the waitlist, you must manually move them when ready.

  4. Email Options: Request clients’ email addresses during check-in, or make this required.

  5. Services: Choose which services you would like clients to be able to book via the kiosk.

  6. Service Categories: Group services into broader categories. Add preloaded photos for each category or upload your own.

  7. Display Options: Enable or disable service descriptions and prices being shown to clients using the kiosk.


🧑‍💻 Client Experience

These instructions explain the client experience when using the Kiosk app. They show how clients check in, enter their phone number, book a new appointment if needed, and receive confirmation on-screen or via email/SMS.

  1. Welcome Screen: They see a Check-In button.

  2. Phone Number Entry: Clients with an existing appointment enter their phone number to check in.

  3. Existing Appointment Check-In:

    • After inputting their phone number the client will be prompted to Check-In for their appointment.

  4. New Appointment Booking:

    • Enter their details

    • Select a service

    • Optionally choose an employee (if enabled)

    • Confirm appointment time or waitlist placement

  5. Confirmation: Clients receive on-screen confirmation and may also get a receipt by email/SMS depending on your setup.

That depends on your App Settings. You can configure whether new check-ins go directly to the Appointment Book or first to the Waitlist.
